Tunbridge Wells to Wembley Stadium Taxi
Wembley sits on the opposite side of London from Tunbridge Wells, which makes this one of our longer regular routes — around 46 miles, roughly 1 hour 25 minutes on a completely clear run, and considerably longer once you factor in normal traffic or an event.
Two Routes, Two Trade-Offs
Drivers can take the M25 orbital route (A21 north, around via the M25, then in on the A40/A406), which avoids the Central London congestion charge but can involve the Dartford Crossing toll if routing that way. The alternative cuts through south and west London on the A406 North Circular, which avoids the toll but risks the £15 congestion charge (weekdays 7am-6pm, weekends 12-6pm) and heavier inner-London traffic. We'll pick whichever makes sense on the day and let you know if either charge applies to your fare.
Wembley itself covers several distinct places — the Stadium, OVO Arena, Wembley Central and Wembley Park stations, and the town centre. Tell us exactly which one, and for the Stadium or Arena, which gate or entrance.
On Match Or Concert Days
Roads within 2-3 miles of the stadium can gridlock for hours either side of a major event. Drivers often drop passengers a short walk away, near Wembley Park or Preston Road station, rather than trying to fight through to the stadium itself — it's usually faster overall. Worth knowing: on a big event day, the train and tube (Southeastern to London Bridge, then the Jubilee line to Wembley Park, around 75-80 minutes total) can genuinely beat driving, since it sidesteps the road closures entirely.
Fare And Vehicles
A standard saloon is £127, fixed and agreed before you travel — including on a match day. 6, 7 and 8-seat minibuses are available for groups, and we'd recommend booking your return leg at the same time as your outbound journey.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much is a taxi from Tunbridge Wells to Wembley?
A standard saloon is £127, fixed regardless of match-day traffic.
Will I be charged the congestion charge or a toll?
Only if the route on the day requires it — we'll let you know which applies before you travel.
Is the train faster on event days?
Sometimes, yes. Southeastern to London Bridge then the Jubilee line to Wembley Park takes roughly 75-80 minutes and avoids event road closures entirely.
Will the driver drop me right at the stadium?
On a major event day, usually not directly — drivers often drop near Wembley Park or Preston Road station to avoid gridlock right by the venue.
Should I book my return taxi in advance?
Yes, strongly recommended — finding one nearby after a big event is genuinely difficult.
